As some of you probably know by now, there has been some controversy over the review mods' decision on how to tackle deliberate spammers.
Rather than delete the account and nullify any points that were to be gained from flagging the reviews, the moderators decided to 'punish' everyone who flagged them as abusive by clearing the reviews, causing numerous users to lose up to 3 or 4 whistle levels in one go.
This is simply not on, and something must be done about this. If this is how they treat their dedicated and loyal users, then there's not much point attempting to clean up NG, is there?

I agree that they are combatting the problem in completely the wrong way. I know it's done now, but it just seems to me that dishing out negative whistle points to users who have accurately flagged abuse is the wrong way to do it, as it totally undermines the system, and you end up with a load of good flaggers having shit whistle levels. What's the point in flagging if that's what you get for it?
Fair enough, there's been a kind of unwritten policy about alt spammers, but personally, I haven't flagged for a while, and had no clue about it when I went about flagging those 150 or so shitty reviews. With alt spammers, they should clear the flags WITHOUT dishing out negative points, as it's not inaccurate flagging.
Rant over.
