Your Eyes

Whenever I look
into your eyes,
I get carried away to a place,
where there is nothing
but calm.
I feel perfect.
A private place,
a haven,
that only we share.
And there we sit,
there is nothing but our gaze,
our stare.
I can pierce your thoughts.
I know what you're thinking,
how you're feeling.
If you're happy, then I share your joy.
If you're not, then I know
just what to do
to make things better.
And I know that.
you can do the same.
And that connection,
that bond,
is greater
than any holding of hands,
any embrace,
any kiss.
In that moment, I feel that I know you better than anyone,
and that feeling,
is, perhaps,
the greatest feeling
in the world.
